Improving our Professional Learning
We know that the very best outcomes for children are achieved when they are taught by highly skilled and well informed teachers within schools that are led by inspirational but highly effective headteachers.
Utilising evidence of effective pedagogy to inform practice is essential and there are many layers through which this can be achieved, such as
Self-study: Reading and being well informed about your chosen profession is important and taking time to read and reflect is not a luxury. Please explore some of the links on our resources pages to support you. Look out for our research blogs for the latest studies.
Peer review: Working with trusted colleagues to review practice in the classroom together can help by raising an area for development and identifying an aspect that could be developed as part of a Research Lesson Study group.
Teacher Enquiry & Professional Research: There are frequent opportunities to engage in professional enquiry that leads to accreditation. Often through the university, we can signpost you to opportunities that can lead to Masters Credits. Other organisations also offer professional research opportunities, perhaps participating in national themes and areas of interest and we will signpost these to our Strategic Partners.
