Train to teach Primary with Halterworth Teaching School Partnership
Halterworth Teaching School Partnership is well established in provision of Initial Teacher Training (formerly Halterworth Consortium).
This year we have 40 Primary students training with us, including eleven students from the Isle of Wight. Students are always placed in classes with experienced teachers who receive regular mentor training in conjunction with Winchester University and experience teaching in KS1 and KS2. We pride ourselves on tailoring the programme to meet individual needs as we recognise that our students come from many different starting points and have lots of different skills to offer prior to training as teachers.
Our feedback from students, mentors and Winchester University is always positive with 100% of the students saying that they would recommend us to others.
Quotes from 2016 Graduates:
‘The School Direct year has been very intense but the best possible introduction to life as a teacher. I don’t think that I could have been better prepared for my NQT year and feel excited and (mainly!) confident about having my own class in September.’
‘Overall it has been a hard but a very worthwhile year and I believe it is certainly one of the best routes into teaching with the hands- on practical approach to learning.
‘This was an incredibly enjoyable, informative and beneficial experience and one that I would (and already have) recommended to people who wish to train to teach.’
‘A very full on and enjoyable course … great info from Halterworth and always well prepared for the upcoming training .’ 2016-17 students

How are students allocated to schools?
You can either request a particular school when applying or you can say that you would be happy at any school and we will allocate you. If this is the case, you would go and meet with the school and check that the placement is right for you and right for the school.
