Meet the Team
Jo Cottrell, Exec Head Teacher
Throughout my professional career I have always welcomed opportunities to work in partnership with colleagues across schools and between headships. I have worked for NCTL encouraging national school networks to thrive. As EHT for our Family of Schools (Wellow, Awbridge & Halterworth) my goal is to ensure that every child gets the best opportunites to learn and develop through wonderful teaching and an inspiring curriculum. Halterworth has a long standing, nationally recognised reputation for excellence and I am delighted to see new teachers and leaders grow through our Teaching School Partnership.
Jayne Fahey, Head of Teaching School
As Head of Halterworth Teaching School Partnership I enjoy working with colleagues and prospective teachers to improve teaching, and to provide bespoke support to meet specific needs. I have led and developed our ITT training through School Direct and been very involved in S2S support work. I truly value the importance of working in collaboration and building relationships to aid school improvement. The best part about the role is that I am constantly learning!
Head of School
The role of Head of School at Halterworth provides me with a unique combination of being able to work with pupils across the whole of the primary age range, to build relationships with parents and to offer leadership and support for colleagues.
As well as taking a lead on pupil performance in school, I have been able to provide support for other schools within and beyond our local areas on interpreting and presenting assessment information in addition to undertaking Pupil Premium Reviews. I have a passion for maths and work closely alongside teachers to improve teaching and learning and to keep up to date with current developments and research based practice.
Julia Welch – Teaching School Administrator
In my role as administrator I enjoy working as part of a team and helping to facilitate the work of the Halterworth Teaching School Partnership.
Matt Lowden, Academic Liaison Tutor, Winchester University
I have been a Senior Lecturer at Winchester University for three years and have been allied to the Halterworth Partnership throughout that time. I work on both Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes and really enjoy engaging with the next generation of teachers. Prior to joining the University, I spent 20 years in Primary schools across Hampshire, the last eight of which were in headship. It is a privilege to be able to engage in the learning process of so many students and help them to become responsible, committed practitioners.
